SharePoint business solutions in document management and content management The SharePoint document management team has always been a bit of a puzzle to me. For years I was in the “we need this, we need that” camp when it came to the topic of document management for SharePoint. It seemed like every time a new version of SharePoint was released, we were presented with new functionality and the ability to do cool things with documents. I would get excited about the new features, read through the documentation, and then go back to doing my job.

A few months ago, the SharePoint product team decided to take a step back and look at the whole picture of SharePoint document management. This resulted in some great enhancements and new functionality that I have been playing with in the last few months. I have come across a number of questions from customers and other members of the community that I thought I would address in this blog post.

What are the benefits of Document Management in SharePoint?
